Psychology
Practical, goal-focused support to build skills and confidence in everyday life.
What it is
Our psychologists work with people to build skills and confidence across the areas of life that matter to them. This may include managing daily living, building relationships and social confidence, participating in the community, and working towards goals such as study or employment.
Who is it for
People living with mental health challenges and disability who want to build capacity, confidence and independence in their everyday lives.
How it Works
❋ Getting to know the person
We spend time with the person and those in their life to understand their history, strengths, needs and goals.
❋ Setting goals together
We work with the person to agree on practical, meaningful goals that reflect what matters to them.
❋ Building skills
Using evidence-based approaches, we help the person develop strategies and skills they can use in everyday life.
❋ Involving their network
Where the person chooses, we work with family and support teams so progress continues between sessions.
❋ Reviewing progress
We regularly review goals and progress together, adjusting our approach as needs change.
Our Approach
❋ Supportive relationships
We build strong, respectful relationships and supportive environments, which are the foundation of everything we do.
❋ Familiar settings
Sessions can take place where the person feels most comfortable, whether at home, in the community or online.
❋ Practical and goal-focused
We focus on real-life skills and outcomes, helping people make meaningful progress towards their goals.
❋ Connected support
Our psychologists work alongside our support work and behaviour support teams, so support is consistent and collaborative.
❋ Person at the centre
The person’s voice, choices and goals guide every session, from the first conversation through to each review.
Our Team
Our psychologists bring experience across mental health and disability, and are supported by regular clinical supervision, training and reflective practice, so every person receives consistent, high-quality support.
