Our Approach

We help improve health and wellbeing by supporting individuals to address their physical, emotional and social needs.

How it works

Through the process of getting to know you, we help identify areas in your life that are causing concern and support you to set goals that you would like to achieve. Together, we will use a number of practical techniques and interventions to help you achieve those goals and improve your health and wellbeing. This may involve a task-orientated form of counselling that is both solutions focused and person centred.

We will measure your success along the way by getting you to self-identify on the Support Studio continuum, how satisfied you are feeling at different stages of the process. For the approach to be successful, we must first connect you with a member of our team. You will have an opportunity to meet with this person at no cost, to ensure they are someone you feel comfortable working with.

We like to work with people in an environment that is comfortable and familiar to them. This might be your home, a café, or a park.

Facts about Support Studio

  • The Support Studio model has been developed and trialled over 15 years of practice.

  • It is founded on the Social Work principals of Case Management.

  • It is different to other methods of overcoming challenges, such as Psychology, Counselling and Therapy.

  • It’s less clinical and not as confronting. More akin to solving problems over a cup of coffee, than talking to a therapist about your ‘feelings’.

  • It's confidential and no doctor's referral or Mental Health Treatment Plan is needed.

  • All staff are provided with clinical supervision and registered with their relevant professional body to ensure the highest standard of care.

  • It provides practical tools and solutions to manage everyday challenges.

  • It’s person centred, meaning you get to decide how it works and the things you want to focus on.

  • It is delivered by trained professionals with extensive experience and qualifications in Social Work, Youth Work and Psychology.

  • It’s accessible and affordable. We believe cost should never be a barrier to getting the support you need.
